OTHER QUESTIONS
Any other questions? Just send us a note and we'll try to answer.
ANSWERS:
It's flat...very flat. A railroad track used to run along this route, so of course they chose as flat a path as possible.
But if you're looking for hills, you can find some adjacent to the trail at St. Louis BMX Bike Park, the Gravois Creek Hiking Trail or at
Whitecliff Park.
Note that there is a gradual climb from east to west.
Here are some elevation (altitude) measurements:
- Orlando's parking lot: 418 feet
- I-55 crossing: 446 feet
- Gravois Road crossing: 484 feet
- Watson Road crossing: 528 feet
- I-44 crossing: 576 feet

Sure! It's ideal for kids because it's flat and offers several restroom stops. And kids love seeing
the Clydesdales just outside Grant's Farm.
But please be aware of the following dangers when riding with children:
- The trail crosses several busy streets. Make sure kids know to wait and cross only with adult assistance.
- The trail is very busy at times. Make sure kids know to keep to the far right of the trail to allow passing riders.

Yes, Grant's Trail gets crowded, especially on the weekends. It draws
so many people because it's such a great trail!
It's still far less busy than the trails in Forest Park.

Yes, as long as they are on a six foot or shorter leash, and you clean up after them. Since there are so many
fast-moving cyclists on the trail, we do not recommend bringing your dog unless it is
well-trained to heel closely.
